Commissionerate Police arrest one liqour smuggler with 14 boxes of illegal liquor

( RS KOROTANY ) Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has arrested a drug smuggler with 14 boxes of illegal liquor in the city.

Giving details, the Commissioner of Police said that the Police had got a tip off that Suraj Chander, s/o Subhash Chander, r/o New Dashmesh Nagar, Jalandhar, was selling illicit liquor in the vicinity of Nehar Pully Kot Siddique. He said that Acting swiftly on the information, the police arrested the culprit with a white Honda Amaze car . Mr Swapan Sharma said that the police recovered a total of 14 boxes containing illegal liquor of various labels during the search of vehicle.

The commissioner of police said that FIR No. No. 02 dated 26.01.2025 under Section 61-1-14 of the Excise Act Police Station: Division No. 02, Jalandhar has been registered against the accused. He said that further investigation into the case is going on and details, if any, will be shared later.
