CP JALANDHAR HOLDS SPECIAL MEETING WITH VDC MEMBERS, URGES VILLAGERS’ SUPPORT TO COMBAT DRUG MENACE

Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur today held a special interactive session with members Village Defence Committee and villagers from Commissionerate Jalandhar. The meeting was convened as part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing statewide anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”.

During the session, CP Jalandhar called upon the VDC members and local residents to actively cooperate with the police in dismantling the drug trade from the grassroots level. She stressed the importance of collective vigilance and proactive community involvement to curb the drug menace. The meeting witnessed participation from around 30 VDC members and villagers from areas under Commissionerate Jalandhar’s jurisdiction, including Lakhanpal, Jandiala Manjhki, Dhani Pind, Samrai, and Sarhali.

Reiterating the police department’s firm resolve, she assured that Jalandhar Police will intensify its efforts to eliminate drug activities from the roots. She stated that patrolling in civil dress will be increased and overall security measures will be further strengthened. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach, she warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in the drug trade. She appreciated the active participation and commitment shown by the villagers and assured them that the Police department would continue to work hand-in-hand with local communities to build a drug-free society.
